  2. Inspection and Vehicle Compliance. The TLC may conduct regular inspections to ensure rideshare vehicles meet safety and compliance standards. Letters may be sent notifying drivers of a scheduled inspection, or requesting immediate attention to address any safety and maintenance concerns. It is important to comply with these requests, ensuring that your vehicle meets the necessary requirements and passes the inspection successfully.
  3. Violation Notices/Summons. If a rideshare driver has received a violation or has failed to comply with TLC regulations, they may receive a letter outlining the violation and associated penalties. It is essential to carefully review the violation notice, understand the specific charges, and take appropriate action, which may include paying fines or attending a hearing to contest the violation if necessary.
  4. Background Check Updates. Rideshare drivers are subject to periodic background checks to ensure passenger safety.
