A “statute of limitations” is a law that sets a specific amount of time for people to take legal action for certain incidents.

If you have been in a car accident and it was not your fault, and you have injuries or damages to your car, you may need to take legal action to receive money to pay for medical and/or auto repair bills. For car accident lawsuits, it is important to remember there is a statute of limitations for each type of case, to ensure you can get compensated timely and fairly.

Types of Car Accident Lawsuits

  • Injury lawsuit, if you have been injured in an accident and need to pay for medical costs.
  • Vehicle damage lawsuit, if another driver has caused damages to your vehicle in an accident it needs to be repaired or replaced.
  • Wrongful death lawsuit, if a driver causes a car accident that results in the death of another driver, families can file this suit.
