This year’s Fourth of July celebrations are expected to be bigger than it has been in recent years. Whether you are planning to see the fireworks, or pick up and drop off riders, you should know where the best viewing locations will be and what streets are scheduled to close.
About the Event
The Macy’s Fourth Of July Fireworks will take place along the East River. Fireworks displays will be launched from five barges spaced out between East 23rd Street and East 42nd Street. The display starts at around 9:20 PM and lasts for about 25 minutes. Streets in Manhattan begin closing between 3:00 pm and 10:00 pm. The public begins gathering to pick the best spots at around 6 PM and even earlier.
