As a rideshare driver, you know that your ratings can have a big impact on your status with each app.

The closer to a 5.0 rating you are, the better your standing is with your app base, and the chances of getting deactivated will decrease. Reaching a good rating – and staying there – can also increase the number of riders you have, therefore more fares and tips.

How To Be A Five Star Driver

  • Offer a smooth ride by avoiding jumping on and off the brakes, speeding, weaving lanes, and fighting with other drivers.
  • Deliver a pleasant and safe rider experience by having a positive attitude, asking about music and temperature settings, staying off your phone, asking if there is a certain route your rider prefers, and even checking for left-behind items. Try to let your rider initiate any conversation, in case they want a quiet ride.
  • Offer in-car extras to make your rider feel important. This can include items like phone chargers, tissues, sanitizer, or disposable masks.
  • Keep a clean car so there is no evidence of previous riders. It is important to treat your vehicle to a full-foam wash after heavy weather. To help keep the inside clean, you can use an air freshener, buy cup-holder liners, treat any seat stains with a carpet cleaner, clean out air vents, put your fabric floor mats in the washer machine, and use a Swiffer brush for any surface dust.
  • Go the extra mile to leave a positive impact on your rider by doing things like grabbing their luggage, keep your rider dry by offering them an umbrella while they exit the car, and don’t leave them stranded if the destination is not what they were expecting.
